About us

Why City Life Church

The message from the "Seed Faith Offering" Sunday. In this Message Pastor Lorne Lueck explains the reasons behind the church changing its name and announces what the new name will be.

There are moments in history when God challenges His people to follow Him into new things. Though never easy, God uses these seasons to increase faith and trust in Him. We have a sense that now is such a time for us and our desire is to move forward together in unity and purpose.

For some time now, we have felt God speaking to us about changing the name of our church. In January of 2010, we committed to making this a focused matter of prayer, wanting to be sure that if this was the direction we were to go that it was in His perfect will and timing. During our prophetic meetings in February 2010, we heard clearly and powerfully from the Lord that there was a significant shift coming to us, specifically focused on the area of ministry to our city. As we came together after this powerful time, there was a tremendous unity and confirmation in our hearts that this was indeed God's timing for us to make this change.

Why City?
"... you will rebuild the deserted ruins of your cities. Then you will be known as a rebuilder of walls and a restorer of homes."
Isaiah 58:12(NLT)
God has clearly spoken to us that our hearts must be turned to the needs of our city. It is our mandate to bring the life and hope of Jesus to the people of this city, to see his timeless truths again be the principles upon which we build every aspect of our lives.

Why Life?
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly."
John 10:10(ESV)
This is not only our personality (a church filled with great joy, hope, God's presence and power) but our conviction of doctrine. The abundant life we experience through Jesus Christ is meant to impact every area of our existence, giving evidence to the power and reality of God's Kingdom established on earth and active in our lives.

It is our strong conviction that we continue to build on the same values, beliefs and purpose that has made Glad Tidings Fellowship a strong and healthy church. Yet it is also our desire to do so under a banner that clearly identifies who we are both within our church family and in our city at large.

City Life Church is not just a different name, but a fresh way to say who we have always been and what we aspire to become. We invite you to embrace this exciting season that is upon us. We know that God has great things for us in the days to come and we look forward to the future with great expectation.

Moving Forward Together,

Pastors Lorne and Linda and the Eldership of Glad Tidings Fellowship
