We’re really excited to be doing some intentional Bible study this summer, and we’re doing it a little different than we have in the past.
This July, starting on the 5th, we’re going to be looking at the books of Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians. We have a team of people that are writing devotions that we’re going to do together as a church (just one chapter per day), discussing the context in which the books were written, and their application for us today. It’s going to be an amazing month! We’re also going to film some videos that will encourage some resources that will help you maximize your personal time with God.
In conjunction with that, we’ll continue to meet in our online groups, and talk about what God is speaking to us about as we read these books together!

Galatians 5
I’m not sure how much time you spend going through the drive-thru at McDonalds. I’ve noticed that they never ask me what I don’t want. I never have to say, “I don’t want the Big Mac, and I…

Galatians 6
Any gardeners here? I’m not really, but a quick Google search tells me that a standard apple tree can take up to six years to bear first fruit. Nobody in their right mind plants an apple tree, goes out…

Paul’s letter to the church in Ephesus is essentially a blueprint for how to live a life of faith. He begins by reminding the Ephesians of the freedom they have through Christ’s sacrifice. According to Paul…

Ephesians 2
Ephesians 2 is Paul’s reminder to the church that our salvation comes only through the love of God and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. As verse 9 says, “we neither make nor save ourselves”…

The primary message of Ephesians 3 is based on the idea of qualification, and Paul wants to ensure that the church knows two fundamental truths: nobody is qualified because of sin, and everyone..

It’s important we note that Paul’s message opens with a sense of urgency: “I want you to get
out there and walk – better yet, run! – on the road God called you to travel” (MSG). This means…

Chapters 5 and 6 can essentially be summed up in these two verses. Throughout both chapters, Paul painstakingly outlines the many ways we can fulfill this charge – to love others like Christ loved us…

Philippians 2
It wasn’t uncommon for us to read about the people receiving Paul’s message, receiving it with gladness. Who wouldn’t love the idea of the forgiveness of their sins? However, it has been…
DAY

Philippians 3
It’s easy for us to make comparisons between pre-conversion Saul, and post-conversion Paul. If you’re new to the Bible, they’re the same person. Easy for us to think that Paul really used to be a…
DAY

Philippians 4
I used to struggle with separation anxiety. BIG TIME. I couldn’t do a sleepover at a friend’s house, and any time my parents went on a vacation, I was a wreck. I’d worry about it for weeks beforehand…
Week #4

Colossians 1
The church in Colossae was a young church dealing with some heretical teachings that had crept into their congregation. What’s interesting is that these teachings were not in complete..

Colossians 2
I love fitness, and one of my favourite fitness jokes is, “if you’re a vegan who does Crossfit, what do you tell people about first?” We all know someone who is so passionate about a certain discipline…
DAY
03
Colossians 3
Where Chapter 2 seeks to tear down the idols and legalism that pervaded the church, Chapter 3 is all about rebuilding their sense of identity through the work and love of Jesus Christ…

Colossians 4
Recently I read a quote that said, “inconvenience is not oppression” to which I would add, nor is it persecution. We can’t meet right now and that is frustrating. Inconvenient. Uncomfortable…
